Underwriters Laboratory Approval

Only Underwriters Laboratory (UL) approved fire-resistant can assure you of the level of protection necessary to safeguard documents in the event of a fire. Korden’s family of UL classified fire resistant storage products are designed to help you begin restoring your home or office by protecting your valuable documents and records from the ravages of fire.  At Korden, we offer two levels of record protection equipment recognized by UL: fire-resistance and fire & impact resistance To earn the UL Label, files endured the following tests:

• A one hour fire endurance test
• An impact test (only for impact rated files)
• An explosive hazard test

With a Korden Fire File labeled with the UL seal of approval, you have the assurance that your file’s interior will not exceed 350 degrees Fahrenheit while subjected to external temperatures of 1700 degrees Fahrenheit over a one hour period.
